We wrapped up the 2013 in grand style at Lake Pleasant.  SRAM schwag flew, Zogg goggles got grabbed, Zoot schwag was dispersed,  and Destination Kona stepped up HUGELY with custom awards and coupons for everyone!
Despite the fact that we had to change venues, and we came up a smidge shy of our planned 1500 course, the finals were a blast.  It was no surprise that Kurt Dickson and his son Keith took their respective fields, or that John Nadeau would be charging hard for a shot at the series title – but Katy James can’t play corn hole?  What?  Your husband brews beer, you should be a Queen of corn hole!  Kerri Hiley tied for the series with Kimberly “I remembered my wetsuit” Hines.  Joseph Courtney took the Masters Male 45+  category after a season of dominance and there was a ton of other great swims.

Special thanks to our sponsors for the entire series:

Destination Kona and Sole Swim Solutions for amazing awards and great local support!  Stop in and say hi to John, and use those coupons at either of their TWO locations in the valley!  Frank, we’ll keep Bruce on the tune list if you’ll be back!
Desert Mountain Paddlers – Ron and the gang keep us safe on the water, even if it was windy, they fought the waves and gave us expert advice.
North High School – Rita and her crew of volunteers were diligent, polite, on time and hard working.  They helped keep our events running smooth.
Sun Devil Masters – without Jonny’s coyness I am not sure I would want to show up to swim.  Simon – we still need to go toe to toe….in the water, not on deck.
We will be reviewing event calendars, and refining the series for 2014 – stay tuned as we get the season dialed in.
Thanks for your continued support!
